School Bus Safety

Going to school in the winter morning can be hectic for your children. With the dropping temperature, your children may not feel like getting up from cozy bed. But for this reason they cannot leave school. And school bus is the most convenient and a safe way to drop your children to the school. However, behavior on the bus - before and after boarding is very important.

Here are 12 Safety lesson for the school bus ride to help keep children safe:

  1. Always stand 2 feet away from the road while waiting for the school bus. Remind them not to stand in the danger zone that surrounds the bus. The danger zone is anywhere close enough for your child to touch the bus.
  2. Enter the bus only after it stops. Do not push or shove while boarding the bus.
  3. While boarding the bus, don’t jump!
  4. Hold the side handle/handrail and step inside the bus.
  5. If there is seatbelt, buckle it up!
  6. After taking the seat always face the front of the bus.
  7. Get up only when the bus stops. Remain in the seat until the bus comes to a complete stop.
  8. Never put the body part outside the window. Always keep your head, hands and arms inside the bus.
  9. In case needed, please hold the seat handle for safety.
  10. Place bags on the rack or under the seat. Make sure it won’t move or hit anyone during the bus ride.
  11. Be seated when the bus is moving.
  12. In case of emergency, call Attendant.
